Wisdom on Her Tongue

This is hands down the best, most practical, most no-nonsense book on marriage I've read. Lexy gets right to the point and I really enjoy using it as a sort of manual to check back in with frequently. Definitely a book I have been recommending to all my friends!

I appreciate the author sharing her wisdom, discernment, and guidance. Even as a male reader, the book help me to understand what are good and need to be exemplified in our family and community. Chapters are not too long and doesn't get bogged down in jargons or some long monologue about certain person's experience to make a point. It made it easy for me to read when I'm busy throughout the day.

A nice reminder of how to obey the lord and love and respect our husbands so that our children know what obedience looks like. Altogether, a great book with practical wisdom to slap us back into reality to help us do what we want to do.

Lexie's book is a manual for every woman. It should be read by every young woman to prepare for her future. So well written!

I have truly never read a better book on wifery and communication. Lexy is straight forward yet warm. Convicting yet encouraging. This is wisdom for the age and every Christian woman should read this book.

So good!! Really blessed me as a young wife and mother on how to be the wife God is calling me to be! It was so practical instead of the very vague books I’ve read on how to be a godly wife.

Almost all of the advice given is good, but there are at least three chapters that basically boil down to: don’t talk right away, and these fail to justify their independent existence and should have been one chapter. The chapter on sexual warmth and faithful wounds felt out of place. There’s no coherent structure to the chapters. The author frequently references her husband as one who lives out a virtue, but it would have been more helpful to use that space in this tiny book to give an example from a well-known saint instead. The respect chapter was great, and I liked the praising your husband chapter, but it could have used more detail. As the book is on communication, I think the author should have given more positive tips for how to have a conversation or how to determine if it’s one worth having and not just how to wait to have one. With chapters written by Lexy’s husband and frequent references to him, it seems odd that Lexy is writing the book instead of Brian. Co-authoring might have made more sense. In addition, most of the advice in the book has already been given in Lexy’s podcast, so I don’t think it’s worth the money for a faithful BH listener. If you would rather read a short book than listen to the podcast, I would be more likely to recommend it.

I hope all the women in my life read this book.

Excellent and great for my Wife

I love this book. It is now the one that I will be giving to all of my friends so that they can pass them out to young wives and moms today. It does seem that it takes a long time from order to delivery though.

So refreshing to find true biblical principles and practical guidance for Christian women. A great read for new brides and seasoned wives alike.

One word of caution fellas, if you order this as a gift it comes in NCP packaging and might give away the surprise if your wife collects the mail that day, so beware!

This book is the most practical on marriage I’ve ever read. I will be rereading every year, Lord willing. NCP was amazing to work with—I wanted to get this sent to a missionary friend and they worked with me to expedite it to make sure it reached her.

My wife and I have greatly enjoyed reading this book every night before bed. Book shipped quickly and are in pristine conduction. Highly recommend.

It has great concepts to it, but her application advice is concerning and unhealthy. I would not recommend this to other women to read.
